Our Year-Round Advent Calendar

A year-round Christian advent calendar can be a meaningful way to cultivate faith and anticipation throughout the year. Instead of focusing solely on the Christmas season, this calendar can help you celebrate scriptures and themes all year. Here are some ideas for a Christian-themed year-round advent calendar.

Daily Bible Verse

Assign a Bible verse for each day that reflects a theme related to the Christian faith (e.g., love, faith, hope). You can memorize them or meditate on them throughout the month. I love doing this with the kids. It helps us all learn and memorize verses.

Daily Prayers

You can also create daily prayers or devotions and add them to each card on the back. You can include specific topics or people to pray for each day.

Seasonal Reflections

Reflect on key Christian seasons like Easter, lent for some, Advent, and Pentecost throughout the year, providing scripture and reflections relevant to each season. Currently as I’m writing this post, we are in the Easter season. You can find a variety of year-round advent calendars on Etsy. I buy the digital downloads and cut them out myself. Then I use rubber cement to glue them to colored paper.
